The Site?

This is my page for people who participate in the Aleph One chatroom to post their work. If you want your work on here simply visit the room in AIM and ask me. I prefer this site to be a place for maps without a home, but I might post maps that are popular within the room as well. Other than that, everything I put up here (movies included) are things that cannot be found anywhere else (unless someone 'borrowed' it and didn't tell :P). This site is also home to a few other things that I like to do, but almost all of it is Marathon related.

Me?

I'm Tycho. Screenname is TychoVII. Yeah I know, not very original. But hey, I'm crazy too.

My real name is Robert/Rob/Bob/Bobbert/Robear/Bobberts/Bobbino/El Bobbo/Robby/Bobby/Roberticus Maximus. Take your pick. I prefer the original though, maybe Rob. I like games. I've played them all my life. Inbetween sleep and the controller lies school, work, art, music, reading action-packed fantasy novels, watching bad movies, miscellaneous, and this site. And I even find the time to shower.

If you want to get a hold of me try Tycho7@comcast.net

Otherwise come to the Aleph One chatroom. I just might be there.

The Key?

The map is playable in Marathon 1.
The map is playable in Marathon 2. Even if a map does not have this symbol, it is still possible it can be played in Marathon 2 via Aleph One if it is not using the 'Jjarro' texture set. If the map originally had a flechette in it, it would simply not appear in the map.
The map is playable in Marathon Infinity.
The original Marathon 2/Infinity has difficulty playing the map effectively because certain limits have been exceeded like viewing distance or excessive polygons. Aleph One surpasses such limits and is required in order to play the map. The map may still be playable in M2/Infinity but you run the risk of crashing the game or witnissing odd viewing anomalies such as white space or missing polygons.
This icon will be present if there are any shield chargers in the map whatsoever.
The map has been merged. This means it has been more or less finalized and is considered complete. It also removes Bungie's warning that the map was not created by them when you start a game.
The map has been merged with custom physics. This means that anything from the way weapons fire to the way creatures move can be completely different. Custom physics typically provide a completely different experience than traditional Marathon play.
The map contains an excessive amount of 5D space. This icon won't be included with maps that have small amounts that don't affect gameplay.
The map had aliens included when it was made and if the gatherer checks the 'Aliens' option, there will be aliens present.

Help

What's the name of the room you ask? It just so happens to be 'Aleph One'. If it's empty, that's fine. It usually is. Most of the time you'll find people there at night. For more info, head over to the Aleph One site.

Don't know how to get there? If you're using AIM try inviting yourself to a chat and call the room Aleph One. Works for me. If you're using iChat and don't know how to get there, you should be shot. That's all the help I can offer in that respect.

Trying to play games with others? Router/NAT getting between you and your glory on the battlefield? None of your friends are cool enough to help you out? I may be able to walk you through it, depending on what device you're using and what kind of setup you have. Just stop by the room and ask me nicely :)
No guarantees though :/
