I haven't been working on Halathon for the past month or so. I guess it's just a painful cycle because this isn't the first time it's happened. I get really into it and then the ambition slowly dies. Then something happens that kicks it back up again. The release of the trilogy set sort of kickstarted the project again, but once I finished the HUD, I was out of fun parts to work on again :(
So here I am avoiding the monotonous parts of the project like the plague. Don't worry though, I'm sure something awesome will happen in another 4 months that'll inspire me again :P
Why don't you work on the shapes file, esp. making the weapons in hand match the weapons on the marine body?
Also, you could make some physics file tweaks, such as switching around the assault rifle and pistol slots to allow dual-wielding pistols. You could also throw in the plasma sword. I know those last two are from Halo 2, but that is a fun game too.
Posted by: Shadowfury333 at April 26, 2005 06:18 AMi already suggested dual pistols.. he doesn't want to. so i hacked my copy of halathon to have fists (instead of melee assault rifle), dual pistols, dual plasma pistols, and an appropriate explosion sprite size for the fuel rod shot.

I hope the HUD at 1024 x 768 has been fixed...and have you put in all of the hi-res textures?
